Deduplicate contacts before HubSpot import

Duplicate contacts reduce import quality and can create messy CRM data. Use TidyImports to clean rows and review issues before import.

Why deduplication matters

HubSpot deduplicates on email address by default, but only at the point of import — it doesn't warn you that duplicates are being merged or dropped. Cleaning duplicates beforehand gives you full visibility and control.

Common duplication patterns

• Same email address appearing multiple times with different names or fields.
• Variation in email casing (e.g. User@example.com vs user@example.com).
• Different export sources merged without deduplication.
